Head Athletic Trainer: Christopher Armitage, LAT TC MDNC
Chris comes to Tampa Bay United from Elon University.
Chris completed his BS in Athletic Training degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in May 2019. While at TAMUCC Athletic Training Student Newcomer of the Year (2015). Chris did a summer internship with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL in 2018. After graduation, he went to Abilene Christian University, where he was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and covered both Football and Baseball until May 2021. After Abilene Christian University, he went to the Louisville Xtreme of the Indoor Football League but unfortunately, the team was forced to dissolve. Chris spent the last year working at Elon University as the Head Football Athletic Trainer, where he left for family reasons to come back home to the Tampa area where he is originally from. Chris is currently working on his Doctorate in Athletic Training.
Before becoming an Athletic Trainer, Chris spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy and Retired as an Electronics Technician, and 1ST Class Petty Officer (Parachutist / Surface Warfare / Master Training Specialist / Rescue Swimmer). Where he won multiple awards, including Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi Sailor of the Year (2011), MacDill Airforce Base Sea Sailor of the Year (2008), Naval Station Dam Neck Center for Instruction, Instructor of the Year (2004), Naval Station Dam Neck Athlete of the Year (2003). He also earned many medals during his years of service, which include the Joint Service Commendation Medal (3), Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Achievement Medal (4), Good Conduct Medal (5), Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Service Medal, National Defense Medal (2), Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal.
Chris is originally from Clearwater, Florida. He has three children Matthew, Mikayla, and Liam. He enjoys training in Jujitsu, working out, Obstacle course races and water sports when he has free time.

The hours and locations currently listed are currently for our Lead Athletic Trainer, Jimmy Spinale, and Haley Todaro.
Post-game injury evaluations should be scheduled by contacting the TBU athletic trainer, either Jimmy Spinale (email@example.com / 941-807-2517) or Haley Todaro (Haley.firstname.lastname@example.org / (540) 809-1780). You may visit during the hours/locations noted; however, it is highly recommended to schedule a date/time with the athletic trainer in advance should availability and/or location change without notice.
*Thursday Availability: Jimmy is currently available every other Thursday. Contact Trainer to verify availability.
**Additional PT Solutions Athletic Training staff will be available during weekend games at Ed Radice Complex and/or Monroe Middle School campus.
